The Best Time to Visit Bandhavgarh National Park

You can get flights directly to Jabalpur from Delhi, once you reach Jabalpur airport it will take around 4-5 hours by road to reach Bandhavgarh national park. Otherwise, you can also reach by train, the closest railway station is Umaria which is 45 minutes away and Katni which is around 2.5 hours away.

The best time to visit
March and April are the best time to visit when the temperature increases and the tigers come out to drink water or cool themselves in the grass. May and June are also good months for tiger sightings, with the exception of the climate which is very hot. December and January are the peak season for Bandhavgarh Tiger Safari when the temperature is cold and visitors usually swarm up.

Other activities
You can also enjoy elephant rides here. The cost is 1,000 rupees and the duration is for 1 hour. Children who are less than 5 years can ride for free, but who are aged from 5 years to 12 years need to pay 50% less. Safari reservations must be made at the Permit Booking Counter in Tala.

Where to stay?
Most of the best Bandhavgarh National Park hotels are located in Tala region. Here, you can find plenty of budget hotels according to your convenience. The Forest Department of Bandhavgarh also provides the guest house for 1,500-2,500 rupees per night. You can book in advance.

Opening hours and safari times
Jeep safari starts late in the morning and in the afternoon until sunset. If you want to spot the animals, the best time to explore is in the early morning hours when the first slot starts.

Important note
•The park is closed on every Wednesday and at the time of Holi and Diwali.
•Also, the core park is closed during the monsoon season i.e. from 1st July to 30th September.
•The buffer zone is opened all throughout the year.
